Mikaila and Hayes in the Suki Gown
Mikaila and Hayes celebrated their love on a perfect autumn day in Washington, with an intimate woodland wedding and private vows.
The Love Story
Introduced by a mutual friend at a moment of quiet transition, Mikaila had just moved to the area for work on a short-term travel contract, with no expectation to stay. Then she met Hayes, and everything changed. On a weekend spent turkey hunting, the couple set up camp in a secluded clearing, wildflowers blooming around them. With no audience but the open sky, Hayes asked her to marry him – an intimate proposal just the two of them.
A Perfect Autumn Wedding in the Woods
On a perfect autumn day in Leavenworth, Washington, Mikaila and Hayes gathered with their closest family and friends to get married. They chose Tierra Retreat Centre for its natural ease – tucked into the woods, expansive yet intimate, with space for loved ones to stay and linger across the weekend. “We chose our venue because it felt like us,” Mikaila shares.
Before the ceremony unfolded, the couple shared a private first look and exchanged vows ending in one of the highlights of the day. “Our first look and private vows were something special between just the two of us. A moment of silence before the chaos of the rest of the day.”
The Comfort of Suki
For her wedding day, Mikaila chose the Suki gown. “It made me feel like such a classic beauty. Suki is timeless and sexy,” she shares. Comfort was also just as essential for Mikaila. She wanted to feel present, able to move, laugh, and dance without restraint, and Suki delivered.
Mikaila’s journey to finding ‘the one’ began at Grace Loves Lace Seattle, where she describes an experience defined by warmth and care. “The staff was welcoming and patient. Everything I tried on was comfortable and beautifully made.” The result was a look that felt authentic, confident, and entirely hers.
