A Halloween Fairy Tale
Conor and Kimya crossed paths for the first time in Washington, D.C., back in 2012 during a Halloween party. Kimya stole the spotlight with her unforgettable Gene Simmons costume, catching Conor's eye from across the street. Instantly smitten, Conor fell head over heels in love at first sight. Despite Conor’s immediate attraction, Kimya, relishing a challenge, needed a bit of persuasion before agreeing to start dating.
Luckily, Conor was up for a game! The bride shares, "Picture a cat and a golden retriever falling madly in love. We may wonder how it worked. The thing is, we just complete each other like two pieces of a puzzle." Not only are they each other's best friends, but one word to describe their bond is "effortless." They just mesh, and it felt natural from the very first day for Kimya and Conor.
An Intimate Proposal in Washington D.C
Years into their relationship, Conor chose to organize the proposal with Kimya's friends' months in advance. He planned on popping the question during an event organized in D.C. on June 11th, as Kimya had intended to attend the event with her friends. Kimya recalls, "My friends kept texting me that they were on the way but the 'traffic was bad.'"
She ended up going to her now sister-in-law's house where they had all planned to meet up. As she walked inside, their entire home was adorned with flowers and candles. Conor was waiting, down on one knee, and popped the ultimate question. It was such a beautiful surprise for their intimate engagement.
A Timeless and Elegant Wedding in Chevy Chase Club, Washington D.C
The couple exchanged vows at the Chevy Chase Club in Washington, D.C. The celebration was infused with Persian and American touches. The aesthetic brief was to bring elegant, timeless, and chic elements to their wedding. Choosing this golf club was an obvious choice; not only had both their families been members there for years, but it also happened to be one of the most beautiful country clubs in the region.
Celebrating their love in such an intimate space with their loved ones was perfect. The venue featured picturesque grounds, an elegant clubhouse, and the most amazing greenery. To honor her Persian heritage, the bride incorporated Oriental rugs on the walk down the aisle. Colors such as Persian orange, red, or pink were ideal to contrast the minimalistic theme. The all-black and white palette was timeless, and the Persian colors were ideal to elevate the aesthetic. Kimya recalls, "One of the highlights of my day was getting ready with my bridal party."
It goes without saying that your “morning get ready” with your bridesmaids is one of the most enjoyable experiences you’ll have. The bride could finally see her vision come to life as she walked down the aisle. Although she was a little worried because the weather forecast was showing rain all day, she chose to let it go and fully embrace the entire morning with her bridesmaids. By 11 am, the sun came out, and it turned out to be the most amazing day. As she walked down the aisle, seeing Conor with tears running down his eyes; it was a moment she will cherish forever.
