Dom Elissa's Boho Bridal Moment in Sicily

Dom Elissa's welcome dinner look is the definition of modern boho. Wearing our Babette gown, discover how the bride styled her effortless bridal look.

Dominique Elissa Faludi (Dom) met her now-husband Tom in line for matcha at a Bondi bakery. Though, as fate would have it, they’d technically crossed paths before. A chance encounter, an Instagram DM, and soon they were inseparable. When Dom's mother’s health began to decline, Tom proposed with her great-grandmother’s heirloom ring, making sure her mum could be part of the moment. They married in an intimate hospital ceremony weeks later, followed by a romantic celebration in Sicily surrounded by loved ones.

For the couple’s welcome dinner in Sicily, held at one of their favourite pizzerias - Dom turned to Grace Loves Lace. From the moment we released our Bombshell collection, she had fallen in love with Babette. She came into our Sydney boutique the next day after chatting with our team, and the moment she tried it on with stylist Alivia, it was clear - this was the one.

She styled the sheer, beaded gown with an unreleased bridal head scarf (coming soon) and a nude slip from another Australian brand Bare Ones, bringing her 'modern boho bridal' vision to life. Tailored for easy movement on Sicily’s cobblestones in our Burleigh Heads HQ and final alterations by The Emergency Button in Double Bay, the final look was everything she dreamed of - effortless, elegant, and unforgettable.

WHAT CAUGHT YOUR EYE ABOUT BABETTE WHEN YOU FIRST SAW HER?

I wanted something fun for our welcome dinner. The Babette has it all, the train, the gems and the head scarf accessory was the cherry on top.

DID YOU ALWAYS INTEND ON WEARING A BRIDAL HEAD SCARF WITH THE GOWN?

Yes! I saw it on the campaign imagery and fell in-love with the styling.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE FEELING OF SLIPPING INTO THE FULL LOOK?

It was a wow moment!

WHERE DID YOUR WELCOME DRINKS TAKE PLACE?

We held them at a small pizzeria in Santa Flavia. They were so accomodating and it was the perfect back drop.

WHAT WAS ON THE MENU?

It was a pizza party! Luckily for me, they had a big variety of gluten and dairy free options.
